Lucy left her small town in the smallest state to pursue a career in fashion. Though primarily based out of New York City's garment district, this road warrior spends most of her time in and out of hotels and airports across the country. Lucy is a girly girl with a guy's guy sense of humor, a lover of all things Hockey, and a diehard New York Ranger fan. She loves making people laugh and anything that makes her laugh. Some of her obvious dislikes include I-95 traffic and the Metro North New Haven line.

Thank you for honoring your oath to protect and serve, and continuing to put on the uniform that sadly has made you a target. Thank you for walking the thin line between life and death to keep our streets, towns, and cities safe. Thank you for doing right by even those who have done you wrong. Thank you for risking your lives to protect ours, and for suffering inconveniences to defend civil liberties. More importantly, thank you for risking your lives for those who misjudge you and villainize you. ThankRead More
Rarely would I scroll to the bottom of an article to observe the mindless debauchery that occurs in the comment section. That is, until it was my own. Not too long ago, Thought Catalog published one of my articles, one that received several unwarranted and irrelevant comments. My initial shock wore off almost immediately, as I found them more comical than offensive. Kind of like watching an episode of Southpark, it’s so ridiculous that you can’t help but laugh. My personal favorite came from a commenter who identified himself asRead More

DISLIKE: 7 Things Facebook Users Need to Stop doing

If only Facebook had a dislike button… If Facebook users everywhere could just NOT be that guy…that’d be great.     1. Inviting friends to play Candy Crush Listen up Candy Crushers, we are all very much aware of the inescapable presence of Candy Crush on Facebook. So if we don’t have it, it’s because we have no interest in playing it, and therefore made a conscious decision not to download it. Maybe you’re a first time offender and didn’t consider the aftermath that could potentially stem from you clicking theRead More

Gen Y Bashers: You Hate Us But You Raised Us

I come across more and more articles everyday about Generation Y as if we’re some kind of plague suffocating innocent civilians with our overinflated egos – thanks a lot mom and dad. The nerve of those parents for giving us encouragement, praise, and positive reinforcement!      Shout out to all the haters behind the countless articles berating Gen Y (someone’s parents didn’t love them enough). But hey, much like us Gen Y-ers, you’re entitled to your own opinion. And while I can’t say I totally disagree with many ofRead More
The NYC rush hour commute is a test of patience, awareness, and morality; all of which, most commuters lack. That said, it is beyond my comprehension why anyone would think occupying city sidewalks as a human roadblock at this time is a good idea. And I’m not just referring to the thousands of city goers with no concept of their surroundings either. I mean those obnoxious, tactless, less-of-a-human individuals who have made it their purpose in life to stand between commuters and their destinations. Whether it’s a comedy show orRead More
Is it just me? Or has New York City turned into a breeding ground for fad dieters and soul-searching cyclists? Whether they’re a lifestyle, or just fads to blast all over social media, these trends have spread like wild fire in the metropolitan area. Must be something in their coconut waters.   Gluten-Free and Other Fad Diets  And I don’t mean the people who have been gluten-free, vegan or vegetarian for most of their life. I’m referring to those who hear of a new diet and throw it into a rotation ofRead More
-The window seat thief – This not so stealth individual will typically pretend to be sleeping, or reading, or have their headphones in, basically anything to keep them from making eye contact. OR, they keep guiltily looking up to see if anyone realizes. Either way, they’ll always play dumb and keep squinting at their boarding pass as if they’re reading some kind of encrypted text, because they’d rather look clueless than admit they’re actually just an asshole. I’m sure some of you readers are thinking maybe the alleged thief reallyRead More
Living under the rule of a federal agent made me a resentful adolescent. But it made me who I am today. “Wait till your father finds out.” Those dreadful words haunted me for most of my adolescence. My brothers and I were raised under the strict ruling of Dad (“The Dictator”) and Mom (“The Enforcer”). And much like a totalitarian state, there was no compromise or negotiation, and speaking out against the authoritative duo was intolerable. Similarly, in the event we were able to speak in our defense, our argumentRead More
