Review: Global Dance Festival 2017

Global Dance Festival (GDF) celebrated its 15th anniversary at a new venue – the parking lot in front of Sports Authority Field (home of the Denver Broncos). Despite the new location and overall new vibe, the festival wowed thousands of attendees, yet again. While Red Rocks is one of the most beautiful and acoustically perfect venues in the world, it’s understandable why a festival like Global would look elsewhere in order to expand. At the new location, GDF was able to sprawl across flat land, adding large and impressive artRead More

A fixture in the Colorado dance music scene for a while now, Denver-based Producer Illenium has gone from local favorite to critically acclaimed over the last few years. The twenty-something DJ has been turning heads not only with the high profile remixes that he takes on (i.e. Don’t Let Me Down by The Chainsmokers and Say It by Flume), but also with his original music (Illenium released his full-length album Ashes in February, 2016). Despite being a staple in the Denver EDM world, I hadn’t seen Illenium live until recentlyRead More
The beauty of Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO is the pinnacle of Mother Nature’s impressive talents. Another year of Global Dance Festival is in the booksRead More

National Rum day is coming up on Saturday, August 16th (that’s this Saturday!), and I for one could not be more grateful. I mean, what better way to stew in denial that the summer’s almost over, than by day-drinking my go-to summertime liquor, amirite? Thankfully Captain Morgan has come through in the clutch with their new White Rum. It’s slightly sweet with a hint of fruit, and its light and crisp flavor is perfect for your National Rum Day celebration, whether it be poolside, lakeside, or backyard-side. Okay, so now thatRead More
NOTE: This post was co-written by Writtalin contributors Cat Hausler and Sophie Tahran. The two are besties and life-long festival buddies. It’s been four weeks to the day since we started on our journey to Sasquatch. No, we’re not talking about going on a quest to find the giant, furry monster that supposedly haunts the Pacific Northwest, but the epic three-day music festival that stole our hearts. This year’s Sasquatch was our first, and after the amazing time we had, it most likely won’t be our last. Here’s a breakdownRead More
