Today is my 26th birthday. Two years ago, on my 24th birthday, I wrote a list of the 24 lessons life had taught me in 24 years. So, on this, my 26th birthday, I would like to amend and add to that list. Some things change, some stay the same. Here’s what 26 years on this planet have taught me: 1. Don’t drink shitty beer. By labels, I specifically and exactly mean a small stamp on the back of their furry little necks, or measly muscled calves, that summarized, in one word or phrase, the most critical information regarding their personality and/or damaging characteristics (physical and non) to any glimpse of a relationship. For example, if one of these males was staggeringly, emotionally unavailable in that dating him was like dating a scarecrow,

Enter Joelle Fletcher (JoJo), our new bachelorette. The producers quickly reminded us that she got dumped by someone that loved her but “love[d] someone else more.” She was a fan favorite on Ben’s season, but I’m pretty sure Bachelor Nation loved about 90% of the women on his season. My favorite JoJo memory is definitely one that has nothing to
Read MorePreface: I moved to Los Angeles from the Bay Area for a boy who promptly dumped me and kicked me out of our apartment. Being alone wasn’t so bad until the Warriors’ went for the record the same night as Kobe’s last career game. This is my ode to that. It’s approaching 6:30, almost time to pack up and head home- only it doesn’t feel like home and I don’t want to go there. And the warriors are playing, and I should be excited, only I’m alone, and don’t

Well, technically Rosie Mac isn’t a

I was able to take in the race, and get to meet the heroes that had competed for the naming rights, including last year’s winner, Jeff Kyle. It was an amazing event, and one that I am proud to support. This year, the field has been narrowed down to five finalists, who you can learn more about here. Vote for your choice by June
Read MoreA team with no money just won the English Premier League. Vegas had them at 5,000-1 odds. Nobody, including their mothers, picked them to win the title. But it’s clear to me how this happened. To hijack a line from the film Moneyball, “We are card counters at the blackjack table and we’re going to turn the odds on the casino.” Here’s what transpired… Leicester City flipped the script on the excruciatingly top heavy Premier League. A league in which 3 powerhouse clubs have dominated title wins for over 100

Upon walking through security by the entrance plaza, I saw a scene all-too-familiar within high capacity events: long bathroom lines. Typically, the line for the men’s room is nothing to fret about. The line moves relatively quickly and one can get their business done without too much of a hassle. Popular culture has indicated to us that women use the restroom for much more than simple paperwork, if you catch my drift. For women, the restroom

It’s acceptable now to send digital messages over speaking face-to-face, to surf your phone while out on a date, and to wear earphones in both ears while driving (this one bothers me the most for some reason). But there’s a centuries old practice which still remains the most effective way to produce and cultivate relationships. Going out for beers. It’s simple, yet often overlooked. Having beers is a social convention that dissolves all differences and brings
