DUBLIN (March 30, 2017) – The good times that begin on St. Patrick’s Day don’t have to end by March 18 – after all, spring is here, summer’s on its way, and there’s much more to celebrate. With that spirit in mind, the Guinness brand is introducing Irish Wheat, the brewer’s newest beer. “When the weather’s warmer, people love crisp, refreshing-tasting wheat beers,” said Padraig Fox, the General Manager for the Open Gate Brewery in Dublin, where Guinness Irish Wheat was brewed. “So now is the perfect time to unveil

Now wander over to the window and look outside. Notice how unless you’re in Paris, nothing has changed. Anything still sitting with you? The frustration and anger you feel toward someone thousands of miles away murdering a couple of satirical cartoonists is justified. Don’t feel anything? No worries, I’m not going to hound you about it. The reactions to the Charlie Hebdo shooting,

News, (popular culture aside), it seems, has begun to appear more accessible to readers in this particular format. Why is that? I conducted a brief study, emailing folks a link to two articles discussing marriage in the 21st century. One article was presented in list-form. The other was not. I asked them to tell me which article they’d rather read. The result? 70% of people preferred the article in list-form. When asked

It’s new, relatively speaking, and should be required viewing for gifted millennials who have forgotten that MSNBC does, in fact, exist. This isn’t a condemnation of the aforementioned New Show. Rather, it is a reminder that television news channels (like MSNBC) are real. They report the news. They give us ebola updates. And some of us pay attention. Now. Here’s the great thing about The New Show: it doesn’t matter if you watch the television news or
Read MoreHere’s a question worth asking: why does contemporary news come in list-form? It used to be we’d get the occasional, yearly ‘Top 10 Albums’, ‘Top 10 Movies’, ‘Top 10 Books’ lists, and so on. In recent years, though, the practice of utilizing lists became somewhat of a go-to platform for authors of popular culture. Lists ranking a year’s most entertaining television shows evolved into indexed accounts of where to find the most delicious nonfat lattes in southern California. If you were wondering why giraffes should be your favorite animal, Buzzfeed

She said, “blah blah blah professional eater blah blah blah.” Professional eater? My eyes had been opened and it wasn’t the coffee this time. If there was a job title like that out there in the open, what else was there? As someone who is clearly looking for another job, I had to investigate further. Listed below are ten of the least talked about jobs in the

If you haven’t seen his movie, The Hammer, check it out. I got into him when he did Love Line back in the day with Dr. Drew and if you didn’t know, they do a new podcast together called The Adam and Dr. Drew Show… basically Love Line Part 2 but better because it’s more of their opinions
Read MoreAs I stumble my way further through college and dabble in the so-called “real” world, I’m coming to the sad realization that so many careers are fueled by the misfortune of others. A good friend of mine was recently accepted into pharmacy grad school, much to his elation because as he put it, “I’m pretty much guaranteed a job for life now, unless people suddenly stop needing medication or something.” As altruistic as his intentions probably are, the core of his future profession is dependent on waiting for people to

Self-proclaimed ‘Fault-Fanatics’ are on the edge of their seats as the premiere draws closer, and director Green along with the cast have only contributed to the torturous, unceasing anticipation. Quite regularly, new trailers, promotional videos, and music videos from the soundtrack are released—only to remind us of how much we will sob once the movie hits screens. The trailer:
Read MoreBy now we’ve seen the headlines. We’ve scrambled to make sense of a horrific act of violence that brought a quiet college town to its knees. We’ve cursed, we’ve mourned and in the case of us Gauchos, we’ve stood together – wounded but unified – in the wake of unspeakable tragedy. Last Friday, a gunman drove through the UCSB beachside town of Isla Vista slaughtering six and wounding thirteen more before turning the gun on himself. Hours before the event, he uploaded a video explaining the reasons for his attack.
Read MoreIt happened again. But this time, it was more than just another tragic news story – at least for me. This past weekend’s events hit way too close to home. I’m a UCSB graduate. I’ve partied in the same streets and eaten at the same restaurants where a coward named Elliot Rodger murdered 6 innocent people whom he blamed for his own personal shortcomings. If this had taken place three years ago, I could have been a victim. My friends could have been victims. It’s pretty surreal for a college

In Florida, cannabis possession is slightly decriminalized but the sale, transportation, or cultivation of the drug remain illegal. If Florida votes to legalize medical marijuana, look for them to continue
