Drop Everything and Start Watching TCM

Do you have so much free time that you don’t know what to do with yourself? Well me neither, but that’s beside the point. There’s always time for binging. I recently found out Turner Classic Movies allows you to stream online. EXCUSE ME?! Many television channels are now following the HBOGo standard—one cable subscription grants you mobile access to content. I’m not suggesting this is groundbreaking news – you’ve been illegally streaming for years. But, this is a smart move for premium and basic cable alike. If most people areRead More

A Lesson in Child’s Play: Kid Snippets

I would like to thank YouTube’s Bored Shorts TV for confirming my belief that children are tiny life coaches. The YouTube channel’s ‘Kid Snippets’ have brought me an incredible amount of entertainment in recent days. They’ve also reminded me of following: It’s important to be encouraging and make your feedback constructive. There are certain things you should always look for when voting for a presidential candidate. Fire can be good and bad. Also, it’s important to make the best out of every situation, no matter how awful. Speeding is wrong,Read More
It was a passing conversation that led me to an interview with Denver DJ Treyy G. I was talking to a co-worker about a shared love for EDM and he mentioned that he knew Treyy and I suggested doing an interview, and a few weeks later, here we are. Trey Garrett is 20 years old. He has tattoos on every inch of his body (that I can see), and large gauges in his ears. Tall, but slim, he might look intimidating to some, but the second he opens his mouth,Read More
microwave warning against drying pets
Woman Microwaves Cat for Attacking Goldfish Laura Cunliffe from Northern England was sentenced to jail after microwaving her kitten because she believed it attacked her goldfish.  Cunliffe claims she put it in for 5 minutes but removed it after one minute when she realized what she had done. The kitten died soon after. Apparently Laura has been suffering from psychotic depression and sectioned under the Mental Health Act 20 times. No statements have been taken from Cunliffe but the courts seem furious and her family is blaming it on poorRead More

Children Should Watch Frasier

Kids are getting dumber. Okay, not dumber, but definitely less intellectual. It’s a proven fact. We have such a religious-like belief in controlling a child’s diet; as kids, we’re told that one sugar cookie or half of a coca cola is like a ‘gateway food,’ and it will surely lead to chronic obesity down the road. But as we spend all of our OCD energy on monitoring what children eat, we forget about the importance of a healthy mind. Just go to any high school, or mall, or just aboutRead More

This Website Will Change Your Life: No Excuse List

Most of us spend at least twelve years of our lives in school (unless you’re a Kardashian or a child star, in which case you’re just screwed). Throughout the years spent in preschool, elementary, high school, and possibly college and beyond, we cram our brains with facts that 99% of us will never need to recall ever again. In this new edition of This Website Will Change Your Life, we’re turning learning upside down and introducing ways to master things that are actually useful and relevant. The website in question,Read More

Little People, Big Divorce

Reality stars, Matt and Amy Roloff, of “Little People, Big World”, have announced that they will be separating after four children and 26 years of marriage. This news comes as a heartbreak and shock to all who watched their TLC reality show, which focused on the dynamics of a family dealing with dwarfism. The Roloffs released a statement that said “Though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation.” The latest season of “Little People, Big World” premiered on OctoberRead More

Jurassic Park with Cats
I know you’re all tired from losing an hour this past weekend, so here’s a video to surely make your day that much better. Someone took the famous kitchen scene from Jurassic Park and put cats in instead of raptors. I’m throughly entertained.Read More
Last spring I got out of the Marine Corps and decided to go on a road trip to enjoy all the freedom I had been busy fighting over for the last five years.  I’m not sure what a country with no Air Force or Navy or any hostile Army at all has to do with American freedom, but that’s what I was told.  I was originally going to go solo, but I ended up taking my little sister along.  I initially said “hell no” when she asked, but I thoughtRead More
Spritz logo
I read an article the other day from Elite Daily regarding a new app from Spritz that allows you to read a novel in 90 minutes or less. I love books and reading and words and everything that has to do with any of those thing. Hence, this automatically caught my attention. According to Spritz, their program formats words to line up with the eye’s natural movement while reading. This involves something called the “Optimal Recognition Point” (ORP) which refers to the precise point where our brain deciphers all of theRead More

How to Be A Badass in 5 Steps

Sometimes we need a little pick-me-up.  Spring is approaching, and with weddings and reunions on the calendar, we will be reunited with friends we haven’t seen in awhile because we are done hibernating and the sun is out.  You’re going to be asked about your profession, your love life, and if you’ve signed up for any half-marathons.  Panic can present itself when we are thrown into these events after a winter of eating Girl Scout cookies and Tinder dates (not eating the dates…you know what I mean).  Here are five simple stepsRead More

Indian Wells: A Sports Fan’s Oasis

Have you ever dreamed you were hanging out with your favorite athletes? That you were essentially in their world? So close, you can feel their quickness, agility, and ungodly talent. So close you can see and hear their interactions with teammates and opponents. Use your imagination. Pretend there are 20 basketball courts lined up next to each other, and there are All-Star players practicing at each one. Lebron plays one-on-one with Paul Pierce. Next to them, Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard play some horse. Oh, and Blake Griffin is tryingRead More
We think about it every day.  Total strangers pass us on the street and we think maybe they could be the  one – or at least wonder what it would be like to kiss them. Thanks to filmmaker Tatia Pilieva, we don’t have to wonder anymore.  Her short film First Kiss took the internet by storm last night, featuring twenty strangers in gorgeously simplistic black and white making the instant jump to first base.  Moments after meeting, each “couple” was asked to engage in a little game of tonsil hockey.  As you canRead More
